It’s that time of year again! Santa’s Anonymous is collecting new and/or gently used toys for Christmas. There are several locations to donate your items around Westville. 5th and 6th grade track meet for May 2 in Paris will be at the old Paris High School football facility on Buena Vista Street in Paris. The meet will begin at 4:30.

Touch a Truck will come to the library on TODAY from 9 AM until Noon!! Children will have a chance to see a variety of vehicles up close and perhaps even get to sit in some of them. There will be emergency vehicles, construction type equipment and some surprises. Children will also be able to create a truck color scratch craft. Those attending that reside in the library district are invited to apply for their library card. Just bring a photo ID and 2 pieces of mail or other forms of identification that are current and list your name and address.
Track meet for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade tonight at Hoopeston has been canceled. There will be no practice.
Reminder......there is an admission fee for the track meet tonight in Catlin. Adults and H.S. students are $3 and senior citizens and elementary students are $2.

From Mrs. Sutliff- I have a lot of items in the lost and found. There are coats, hoodies, hats, gloves, lunch boxes and headphones. I will be taking to donation places next Friday. If your student is missing something please stop by my office. May I suggest that you put the students name in coats and hoodies so they can get back to you. Please share.

Judith Giacoma Elementary is proud to partner with two groups that are helping our community this holiday season. We are partnering with the American Legion by collecting canned goods and other non-perishable food items. We also have a collection bin for Santa’s Anonymous and are currently accepting new and gently used toys for their program. All donations may be brought to school and will be picked up on Friday, December 14th. We appreciate any donation and our community’s support this holiday season!
Westville Community Unit School District #2 is proud to announce two great activities on December 4, 2018. At 9:00 a.m. on December 4th, Judith Giacoma Elementary School will begin an Open House at the building to commemorate their 50th year anniversary. The School District would like to invite all former students, staff, and administration to attend and have a look around the building to see the many changes over the years. Light refreshments will be served. Guests are encouraged to stay for the closing of a time capsule presented by current staff and students at 9:45 in the school’s gym. The day will also feature the District’s annual free Senior Citizen Dinner at Westville High School’s old gymnasium starting at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Seniors are encouraged to come out and participate in the activities and enjoy the holiday meal and entertainment hosted by Westville School District staff and students.
Judith Giacoma Elementary would like to invite all current military service members, veterans, and their families to our Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 9th at 9:30 in the gym. We are truly thankful for all current and former military members and their families for the sacrifices they make to defend our freedoms!
As I was saying in previous posts in our 4th grade class we are promoting 20 Acts of Kindness. We are doing this by recognizing weekly those people who help the students behind the scenes. They do their jobs quietly. This week our winner was custodian Terry O'Reilly.
Monday, October 29th is fundraiser pick up for those who sold the PTO Club Choice. Pick up time is 3:00 - 5:30 PM.
A huge thank you to Westville fire department for coming to speak to our preschool for all and early childhood classes today! We learned so much! We even got to see their fire truck and check out their uniform and special tools. Did you know they have to be able to get suited up for a fire call in 1 minute???
