Good Afternoon Westville School District students, parents, faculty, and staff:
As an update, the district is reaching out to explain the next steps for the mandated school closure that is in effect for Illinois and what this means for Westville School District.
Food Distribution
During the stay-at-home order until April 7th the district has a system in place for ANY student who may need of assistance during this period of time. Students who need assistance with food next week may sign up to receive support by filling out the link below.
Food Assistance March 30 - April 3 Request Form
This link will remain open until Sunday March 29 at 1:00PM. At that time the district will determine the best distribution options. The families in need of assistance will be contacted directly by phone and/or text message and/or email to receive information on distribution time and location.
There will be additional opportunities to sign up for assistance in the coming weeks.
Continuity of Learning
District teachers have worked hard to provide opportunities for students and families to remain engaged in learning during the mandated closure. The district has a platform to support the continuity of learning for all students in response to this extended time. Please click the link below to access the district continuity of learning plan.
Westville School District Continuity of Learning Plan March 30 - April 3
The district will work on updating this continuity of learning plan each week to make sure students and families have good opportunities to stay in engaged in learning during the mandated closure.
Conclusion
The district is committed to acting quickly and effectively to do everything possible to make sure our students and community remain safe and healthy. The school board and administrative team will continue to collaborate closely with our neighboring school districts as well as regional, state, and national agencies.
