Beginning this fall Westville High School will  have a new addition to the guidance counseling department.  Ms. Johnnie Hull will be making the transition from teaching English to working with student counseling and other guidance services.

Ms. Hull is as an experienced presence at WHS.  She has been with the school since 2000, when she accepted an English position.  When asked about what prompted Ms. Hull to think about making the change she had this to share,

"In 2007, after a sensitive conversation with one student, I realized I was not able to assist my students with some of their needs. I decided to join the EIU – counseling cohort to obtain my masters degree. As a result of this decision, I absolutely feel that I am better prepared to support my students and parents in a variety of situations. I am excited to be a full-time Counselor at WHS. My door is always opened for students and parents."

In addition to working to counsel students and assist with the guidance department, Ms. Hull will continue to host her publications class and serve as a host classroom for some dual enrollment online learning labs.
