School Plan for the 2021-22 School Year

The plan for the 2021-22 School Year is available for review at the following link:

COVID Related Planning for the 2021-22 School Year

The school district will continue to follow guidance and directives of health and state school officials, but we are preparing to return to school in the fall to as normal a learning environment as such guidance allows.  “CDC recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status.” –from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 Resource Page on July 28, 2021 CDC COVID-19 Resource Page

In addition to the recommendations given for masking by the CDC, IDPH, and ISBE the district has the following measures in place to provide a safe environment at our schools not limited to, but including:

  • The district will continue to work with local health authorities to provide access to COVID-19 vaccines
  • Access and availability for COVID testing may be provided for individuals as needed
  • Operations will strive for social distancing of six feet or the extent possible
  • Consistent classroom and building cleaning will occur multiple times throughout each school day
  • Air quality will be monitored and HVAC filters replaced as appropriate

The COVID planning that is in place for the beginning of the school year has been implemented due to the increased access to the COVID vaccine, the reduced number of positive COVID cases in our area, and the reduced number of positive cases within our school district.  The district is committed to providing a safe environment at all schools and will continue to monitor the health conditions related to COVID-19.

If conditions change that warrant increased safety measures the district will respond accordingly.  Likewise, if conditions change that allow for phasing out of certain safety protocols the district will take appropriate action.  More information on COVID related planning can be found at the following link
