The WHS Golf team battled through tough winds today at Danville Country Club. They fought hard all the way to the end but came up short and finished 6th out the the 9 team field. With the 6th place finish, this concluded the end of the golf season. The team finished with a record of 7-14 and improved everyday. Thank you to everyone who has supported the team this year and has come out and and watched. Thank you to the parents for all the support this year. Thank you to the players for being coachable and giving everything you had this year. Great job by the WHS Golf team yesterday at the VVC Conference Tournament. They played in cold and windy conditions all day and battled their way to finish 4th out of 7 teams. Special congratulations to Jack Duensing for finishing T6th individually to earn all conference honors. Also, congratulations to Cheyenne Terry for finishing T3rd as an individual on the Girl’s side earning all conference honors. The WHS Golf team will compete next on Tuesday Oct. 6 in the IHSA Regionals Golf Tournament at Danville Country Club with the first tee time at 9:00 AM. Great job everyone and Go Tigers!

Reminder for WHS students, on Monday August 10 WHS sports go into a dead period where summer activities are suspended. The WHS golf team will begin its season, but other activities (weightlifting, open gyms, and voluntary workouts) are discontinued until after school resumes.
Any 9-12 WHS student who is interested in playing Golf this fall, there will be a player/parent informational meeting this Sunday August 9 at 3:00pm at the WHS parking lot next to the softball field. In case of severe weather, I ask that everyone bring a mask in case we must move inside where a mask is mandatory to enter the school. The first official practice will be Monday August 10, at 11:30am at Harrison Park. More information about season will be handed out and discussed at meeting. The dodge ball tournament scheduled for tonight has been cancelled. We will reschedule it later in the year.
The Westville Education Association (WEA) is supporting the Penny Tax Referendum. This tax will help our students, our schools and our community. Please vote yes on March 17th.
The WHS Pep Band will not be performing tonight (2/14). Eighth Grade Night for band has been rescheduled for next Friday, 2/21.

Due to poor road conditions and falling temperatures, the Westville Music Parent's Association meeting for tonight has been rescheduled for this Thursday, November 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the high school band room.

The annual Westville’s Got Talent - Talent Show will be Saturday, October 19th at 7PM. Doors will open at 6:30PM. Come join us for a night of fun filled entertainment and friendly competition from our talented students. Proceeds will go to help fund the Drama club’s production of Cinderella coming up November 9th and 10th.

From the faculty at HAHS: "One of our students, senior Dalton Goble, was in a terrible car accident over Labor Day weekend. His aorta was severed and his pelvis crushed among other injuries. He is currently in a rehab facility doing well. We are having a Taco Dinner/Bake Sale/Silent Auction to benefit Dalton’s family on Friday night before the football game." There was a small electrical malfunction at WHS that resulted in a fire alarm going off this morning. All students and staff are safe and the issue is being addressed. School will resume as scheduled.

Westville Tiger Basketball Camp will be June 24-28. Students entering 3-9 grade in the 2019-2020 school year are welcome to participate. Camp cost is $50 per camper. If you need a camp form you can get one at the high school or email Coach Arteaga at email@example.com.
Westville High School seniors are the first to sign ‘’letters of intent’’ in the Danville area to pursue a career in skilled trades. Kyle Carrell and Dalton Vance both signed letters of intent at Danville Area Community College accepting jobs with Danville Metal Stamping. The signing ceremony was one of many held across the nation.

Come join the WHS concert Choir and Singing Tigers for an afternoon of fun as they host the annual Sweetheart and Dessert Concert on Sunday, February 10th at 2:30 pm in the Old Gym. This concert will feature some oldies but goodies and a few of today’s love songs. Tickets can be purchased in advance from a chorus members or at the door. $3 for adult and $2 for students/senior citizens.
Little Girl Dance performance is moved to THIS Friday's Game (2/1/19) due to predicted cold weather. Little girls wear red dance shirts, heart bows with black bottoms and tennis shoes. Meet in the WHS cafeteria by 6:45 pm and we will perform at Boys Varisty Game Halftime.
