Family Reading Night coming soon to Giacoma!

These second graders learned about economy this week and became producers AND consumers at our market today. They all did an amazing job as little entrepreneurs and we had so much fun!

Students have been working hard on their debate essays in Mrs. Conrad’s Block B. Some of the topics were:
• What is the best pet to own?
• Should college athletes be paid?
• Should plastic straws be banned?
• Should cellphones be allowed in classrooms?
• Do kids need homework?
• Should summer reading be mandatory?
• Should kids have set bed times?
• Should students get paid for grades?
• What is the best model of car?

After reading the book Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo, Judith Giacoma 3rd graders had a visit from Bethany Comfort Dog. Her handlers discussed places they visit and how dogs help people who are healing from illness or help those in crisis through kindness and forgiveness. Just like the characters in the book.

I was a great day to be a Panther Chorus member! We had fun entertaining the residents of Hawthorne Inn! So sweet and so thankful that we came. 💕
