Westville traveled to Rantoul for the first round of the Regional and they were victorious by scoring 7 runs and giving up only 2. Legend Watson pitched outstanding for the Wildcats. In 5 innings, he struck out 14 batters while walking only 2 and was named the winning pitcher. This effort earned Legend the Defensive Player of the Game. Rantoul pitchers only allowed 6 hits but Dexx Martin made the most of it. Dexx went 2 for 4 with a single and triple and also added 2 Runs and 2 RBIs. This effort earned Dexx the Offensive Player of the Game. It was a great battle by the whole team. Westville plays on Saturday (9/13) at Spalding Park 900 N Harris Ave Champaign IL 61820 at 9:00 am. It was the last regular season game before regionals and the Westville Wildcats did it in convincing fashion. In just 5 innings, the boys scored 14 runs and gave up 4 to Villa Grove. Kealyn Brown pitched 3 innings while allowing 0 runs and striking out 4. This effort earned him the Defensive Player of the Game. Dexx Martin just missed the cycle by hitting a single, triple and a Home Runs. He finished the day 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs, 3 runs, and a walk. This effort earned him the Offensive Player of the Game. Tomorrow, the Wildcats will go to Rantoul Family Sports Complex to play Rantoul at 4:30 pm.
On a beautiful day, 5 eighth grade baseball players were honored as it was the last time on their home baseball field of the season. The boys wasted no time as they scored 13 runs in 3 innings and later went on to beat Rossville 13-1. Legend Watson was a man on a mission as he went 3 for 3 including an inside the park home run, 2RBIs, and scored 3 runs. This effort earned Legend the Offensive Player of the Game. The battery which consisted of Kade Valangeon on the hill and Braxton Liles-French behind the catchers plate equaled domination. Kade was masterful carving up 9 strikeouts in 4 innings and giving up only 1 run. Braxton called a great game for his first game as a starting catcher. These 2 boys both earned the Defensive Players of the Game with their efforts. Monday we travel to Rossville.
The Westville Wildcats had 11 hits and scored 14 runs as they beat Milford 14-4 in 5 innings. Legend Watson had 4 putouts and 1 assist and played one heck of a game at shortstop which earned him the Defensive Player of the Game. Kade Valangeon had a huge night at the plate where he went 2 for 2 with a single and an inside the park home run. He also had 3 runs and 2 RBIs and 2 walks. This effort earned him the Offensive Player of the Game. Tomorrow, we host Oakwood at 4:30 pm.
It was the bottom of the 7th and Salt Fork was clinging to an 8-7 lead and the Westville Wildcats Baseball Team had 3 outs to do something... after tying the game on a wild pitch, Connor Riley came up to the plate with 1 out and the winning run on 3rd base. Connor hit a hard ground ball in the hole where the shortstop came up with the ball but Collin Wright beat the throw home and the Wildcats were victorious. Connor Riley was the Offensive Player of the Game by going 3 for 4 with an RBI and a Run Scored and the game winning hit. Connor Riley also came in to pitch the 7th and recorded a gutsy performance while striking out 2 and capturing the win. This effort earned Connor Riley the Defensive Player of the Game. Tomorrow, the Wildcats travel to Paris Crestwood.
The Westville Wildcats Baseball Team won its 3rd consecutive Conference game 10 - 0 in 5 innings. The boys really came to play but Legend Watson led the group. Legend threw 3 inning without giving up a hit and striking out 6 as he got the win. This effort earned him the Defensive Player of the Game. On the offensive side of the ball it was Legend once again. He went 2 for 2 with 3 Runs Scored and a walk. Huge day for the kid that was also named the Offensive Player of the Game. Tomorrow, we host Salt Fork which will be a great game to watch.
Westville Wildcats have won 3 in a row as they defeated Chrisman 15-7. Hitting came easy today for Korbin Hooks as he went 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs and 3 Runs Scored. This effort earned Korbin the Offensive Player of the Game. The pitching was good today but Noah Sanders stood ahead of them all, pitching 1 inning while striking out 3 and walking none. This effort earned Noah the Defensive Player of the Game. Tomorrow, the Wildcats go for 4 in a row against a competitive Charleston team. Great job boys.

Legend's effort earned him the Defensive Player of the Game. Connor Riley exploded with the bat as he went 2 for 4 with 5 RBIs and a run scored. This effort earned him the Offensive Player of the Game. Tomorrow we travel to Chrisman and try to make it 3 conference wins in a row.
The temperature was hot but it didn't stop the Westville Jr High Wildcats Baseball Team as they defeated Heritage 11-3 in just 5 innings. Clay Barton was the man on the bump and through 3 innings he allowed 1 hit while recording 6 strikeouts and walking none. This effort earned Clay the Defensive Player of the Game. On the offensive side of the ball, it was Xavier Briggs who had a huge day in going 2 for 2 while collecting 3 Runs Scored, a triple and an RBI. This effort earned Xavier the Offensive Player of the Game. The Wildcats travel to Georgetown and will try and win another conference game. Great job boys.

Westville Junior High Student Council students who worked hard and earned all their points for the year got to travel to Indianapolis! We earned lots of prizes at Dave and Busters, experienced some rolled ice cream, and tested our skills at Game Show Battle Rooms! Great job this year!
