The Westville Tiger's bats came alive vs Watseka with a total of 18 hits, 15 RBIs, 3 HRs, and this equaled out to a 17-7 finish in just 5 innings. The Tigers fell behind 6-1 in the 2nd inning but a never say die attitude that Westville possessed, allowed the team to come back and take the lead. Matt Darling, Braxton Barrett, and Ean Jones all contributed with Home Runs on this beautiful day for baseball. Braxton Barrett pitched 3 solid innings in relief and used his defense behind him to make the plays. The win belonged to Braxton. This effort earned him the Defensive Player of the Game. On the Offensive side, Matt Darling had a night to remember going 4 for 5 with 3 RBIs and 3 Runs Scored. This offensive explosion earned Matt the Offensive Player of the Game. All 3 of the Home Run Hitters were pictured together. Smile Guys! We play Sat vs Aurora Christian at home at 10am. Come on out.

The Tigers keep on rolling as they defeated North Vermillion 17-1 in just 5 innings. Matt Darling was the winning pitcher who struck out 6 in only 3 innings. He also contributed some offensive power going 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and 3 Run Scored. This effort earned him the Offensive Player of the Game. AJ Van Camp was called upon to finish off the Falcons in the 5th inning and he did just that, striking out 2 and a ground ball. This effort would earn AJ the Defensive Player of the Game. Great job team. The next game is Thursday and at home vs Watseka.

nicely done
It was a cold, frigid and rainy day but the battle of the Tigers was won by Westville. The Westville Tigers scored 28 runs in just 3 innings and allowed 0 runs on pitching/defense. The Tigers threw 4 pitchers at Urbana and they all did what they were supposed to do with combining for a shutout. The final pitcher, Braxton Barrett, faced 3 batters and struck out all 3 and this earned him the Defensive Player of the Game. At the plate, there were many players with multiple hits/RBIs so this made it hard to name the Offensive Player of the Game. Ean Jones stood out from the rest going 3 for 3 with a single, a double, and a triple (just a HR shy of the cycle) with 3 RBIs, and 3 Runs scored, plus a Hit By Pitch. This effort earned Ean Jones the Offensive Player of the Game. The Westville Tigers record is now 4-7 and the team travels to Hoopeston on Mon to open up the VVC.

The JV Tigers picked up their second win of the season with an impressive 10-1 victory over Milford today! Many Tigers had great games at the plate, but none were better than Braxton Barrett. The Offensive Player of the Game had a game to remember: 3 for 3, 2 Home Runs, 1 Double, and 5 RBI. The pitching and defense was also there for the Tigers, led by Defensive Player of the Game AJ Van Camp. The starter hurled 4 innings, allowing 0 runs, 2 hits, 0 walks, and striking out 7. An excellent win for the Tigers!

The Tigers came out hitting again but this time it was vs Villa Groove as they had 13 hits in just 4 innings and tallied 20 runs while giving up only 3. Matt Darling was locked in as he went 3 for 4 with a single, a double, and a triple, while knocking in 6 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. This effort earned him the Offensive Player of the Game. On the defensive side, Gavin Long took the bump in the 4th inning and found himself getting all three outs in just 6 pitches and recorded a strikeout. He also played 1st base and made an excellent cut off throw to 3rd base and caught a runner rounding the base a little too far and he was thrown out. In the early innings, Easton Barney made a diving play off of a ground ball and hopped up a threw to 1st base and Gavin Long came off the bag and up the line and made a quick back tag to end the inning. Gavin Long earned the Defensive Player of the Game. Great job boys. Tomorrow, Westville travels to Charleston to play at 4:30 pm

The Westville Tiger Baseball Team battled the Danville Vikings for 7 innings but ended up on top 12-8. The Tigers are now 1-0 and host Villa Grove at 4:30pm tomorrow. Westville banged out 18 hits which included 6 for extra bases. Alec Davis came up to bat in the top of the 6th inning with 2 runners on and an 8-5 lead. The count was 0 balls and 1 strike as he hit a long drive into deep left center and the baseball disappeared as Alec hit a 3-run home run. This was the pick me up the team needed and the effort was good enough for the Offensive player of the Game. Brayden Barrett came into a tough jam to pitch in the 7th inning with bases loaded and Westville holding on to a 12-8 lead. Barrett was on point throwing 11 strikes out of 14 pitches, striking out 2 and picking up the Save. This effort earned Brayden Barrett the Defensive Player of the game. Great job team! Let's make it 2 in a row tomorrow.
