
On a cold and windy evening, the Tigers Baseball Team hosted the Hoopeston Cornjerkers and won the game 6-0. Cameron Steinbaugh was the man on the hill and did his part by pitching a complete game shutout while striking out 11 and picking up the win. This effort earned him the Defensive Player of the Game. Chance Quick did his part offensively with a single, 2 RBIs, while adding 2 walks. This effort earned him the Offensive Player of the Game. Great Job to ALL the Tigers.


The Varsity Tiger Baseball Team won a close one this evening 5-4 in the bottom of the 7th inning. Easton Barney was the Offensive Player of the Game while collecting 2 hits, 1 RBI, 1 HBP, and he scored the winning Run. The Defensive Player of the Game was given to Ben Johnson. Ben started the game at the catcher position but switched to pitcher for the 5th, 6th, and 7th inning. Ben picked up the win and in a relief role and struck out 8 of 9 outs. Great Win Boys.


Color guard and drum major practice for Wednesday, April 2nd, has been canceled.

The Westville Varsity Baseball Team came up big this evening scoring 22 runs and only giving up 1. They had 14 hits and scored a crooked number in every inning played. Easton Bolin had a night to remember by going 3 for 3 with a single, a triple, and a Grand Slam. He finished the evening with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. This effort earned Easton Bolin the Offensive Player of the Game. On the defensive side, Easton Barney was too much to handle as he struck out 5 and gave up only 1 hit as he picked up the win. He also threw an alarming 33 out of 41 pitched strikes which calculates out to 80%. This effort earned Easton Barney the Defensive Player of the Game. Great job Tigers.


The JV Tigers bounced back with a win over Milford tonight by the final score of 7-0. Braxton Barrett was outstanding - pitching to the line of 6 innings, 10 strikeouts, 0 walks, and 0 runs allowed. This earned him the defensive player of the game. The offense player of the game was Brayden Liles, who had 2 hits, including an RBI double and a run scored. This moves the Tigers record this season to 2-2. Nicely done!


The Westville Tigers Baseball Team did it again as they won a close game 4-3 to a very tough competitor Unity of Tolono. The Tigers are now 4-0 and are looking to match up with another great rival on Fri (3/28) vs Monticello. The game will be played at home at 4:30 pm. Please come support.
Our pitching was stellar as Matt Darling and Easton Barney allowed 0 earned runs and 6 strikeouts and walking only 2. Matt Darling got the win for completing 4 innings of work and got tough when Unity was in position to score but Matt and the Tigers left 4 Unity players on base and he allowed 0 runs. The Defensive Player of the Game was Matt Darling.
Cameron Steinbaugh and Easton Bolin combined together for 4 singles out of 8 at bats and had 2 RBIs and a run scored. These two will share the Offensive Players of the Game.


On March 24, the Tigers put on a show by collecting 18 hits and 17 runs in just 5 innings. No one was hotter than Matthew Darling at the plate, as he went 4 for 5 which included 2 singles, a double, and a 2 run HR. He finished the day with 4 RBIs and 2 Runs scored. Matt has earned the honor of the Offensive Player of the Game. Cameron Steinbaugh took the mound for today's game and recorded the win after pitching 2 scoreless innings. Cam struck out 4 batters out of 7. Cam earned the Defensive player of the Game. Westville is now 3-0 and plays a very competitive team in Unity as they travel to Westville.


Tigers Varsity Baseball makes it 2 in a row as they beat Charleston 15-5 in just 5 innings. Westville collected 12 hits and 6 walks, and scored in every inning. Cam Steinbaugh had 3 hits on the night which included a double, triple, and a walk off solo HR. He ended the day with 3 runs scored, 2 RBIs, and a walk. Cam earned the Offensive Player of the Game. Chance Quick made 2 outstanding plays in right field with a diving play where he covered a lot of ground and hitting the cut off man (Jace Smith), where he cut the throw to 3rd for a bang bang play. Chance earned the Defensive Player of the Game for the 2nd straight game.


The Westville High Varsity Baseball Team won their first game of the season 6-3 over Tuscola. Easton Barney had a great evening at the plate while going 2 for 4 with a single and a double and also added a run scored and a stolen base. This effort earned him the Offensive Player of the Game. Chance Quick had a super day on the bump while pitching 3 1/3 innings and striking out 3 and giving up 0 runs. Tuscola's batting average vs Chance was a dismal .091. Chance got the win and was named the Defensive Player of the Game. Great job boys and Tiger Baseball and let's win another one tomorrow at home vs Danville at 4:30 pm.


The JV Tigers started their season off with a hard fought victory on Monday night, winning by the score of 9-7! Reid Smith earned offensive player of the game honors with a 2 hit performance that included a long home run. Trey Bowling took home defensive player of the game by pitching the final two innings, striking out 3 and earning the save. Nice job Tigers!


Yesterday, 40 WHS band and chorus students had a great day at the Vermilion County Music Festival and gave a great performance at the evening concert.

These two played their hearts out and left it all on the line each game. They were a tough guard each night and were hard to stop.
